Over 36 inches long. We went with a flat bottom for playability considerations. This used nearly all my collection of flat pieces of all colors (the colored pieces are hidden away but used to increase strength.) The top can be removed to let you play inside but we haven't added much in there yet. Daniel helped with the guns and the surface of the control tower.
That's amazing! I love the idea of being able to take the top off to play inside. I don't think I've seen any lego toys that do that.
